Getting here
Fifteen minutes from town, and worth every one
Murray Ridge sits at the very end of Highway 27, off Tachie Road, about fifteen minutes past Fort St. James. From Prince George it is an hour and three quarters.
Hours
Open Thursday to Sunday
The season runs from December to late March. During the regular season the hill is open Thursday through Sunday, with extra days over the Christmas and spring holidays.
Always check before you drive. Extreme cold, wind or thin snow can close the hill at short notice, sometimes the night before. The day's conditions post is the place to look.

The road up is a maintained forest service road. Winter tyres and a bit of clearance make life easier on a snowy morning.
The day lodge
Poutine, bannock and the best view in town
The lodge, rebuilt in 2007, is a three-level, 6,000 square foot base of operations — an open, comfortable space to lace up and warm up. The fully staffed cafeteria does homemade poutine, fresh soup and homemade buns or bannock.
Downstairs there is the rental and wax shop, plus season lockers. Upstairs the licensed lounge looks out over the valley — the right place to end a cold day.

Check the day's conditions
Cold-weather closures happen. A quick look before you load the car saves a wasted drive from Vanderhoof or Prince George.
-
Book rentals the night before
The shop asks for rental details before midnight the evening before, so your kit is sized and waiting when you walk in.

Dress for interior BC
It gets properly cold here, and a twelve-minute T-Bar ride is a long time in the wind. Bring more layers than you think you need.
